Russia has been a popular destination for international students to study MBBS since Soviet times. According to the "Directory of World Medical Schools" of the World Health Organization (WHO), Russia occupies almost 30 places in the top 100 ranked medical universities. Graduates of Russian medical universities are currently working in leading hospitals around the world. MBBS from Russia is a preferred choice for international students due to higher subsidized fees by the Russian Ministry of Health and Education as compared to other western countries. MBBS in Russia for Indian Students

Studying MBBS in Russia is a 6-year degree awarded as a specialized bachelor's degree in medicine. It is emerging as an alternative option for students who dream of becoming a doctor but cannot get admission in a good Indian medical college. More than 53 Russian universities offer the MBBS degree, which is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and allows students to complete their MBBS abroad and practice in India.

As per MCI rules, students who wish to study MBBS abroad must qualify for the NEET exam of Russian colleges. But students must have secured at least 50% (in PCB) or above in their CBSE/ISC 12th results. Tuition fees at popular universities range from 193,000 to 874,000 Russian rubles. It differs from Indian tariffs. It ranges from 1.8 lakh to 8.5 lakh per annum. Graduates must appear in the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) to practice legally in India. Now, due to covid-19, all classes are conducted online. But if students are going to Russia, they can also work part-time. Russia is rising up the ladder of their studies in the field of medicine.
