Solutions to troubleshoot QuickBooks splash screen issue

Following are the quick steps in order to rectify the problem:

Solution 1: Run Quick Fix my Program feature

The first practicable solution that can be used for resolution of the splash screen issue in QuickBooks is by running the Quick Fix My Program feature in QuickBooks Tool Hub program. Perform the steps below:

  • Towards the inception, the user should download QuickBooks Tool Hub from Intuit and install the same on the system.
  • Now, run the tool by double-clicking its icon followed by opting for the Program Problems tab.
  • Follow up by clicking on the Quick Fix my Program option.

  • The feature will scan QuickBooks for issues, which can also include the splash screen issue. Allow the tool to automatically fix the diagnosed issues.
  • If the splash screen issue pervades, follow the next solution.

Solution 2: Rename “QBWUSER.ini” and “EntitlementDataStore.ecml” files

Renaming the initialization file namely QBWUSER.ini can potentially fix the QuickBooks splash screen issue. This process prevents QuickBooks from getting access to this file. As a resort, the program is bound to create a new file.

  • The first step requires heading to the QuickBooks folder, and therein, search for the QBWUSER.ini file.

  • Next, click on the Security Settings, Local Policies and finally, proceed to the Security Options.
  • Herein, opt for System Cryptography FIPS and disable the same. Just in case if it is enabled, the user should turn it off.

  • Now, run QuickBooks as an admin and check whether the splash screen issue got fixed once and for all.
