Congo Ebola Outbreak: Vaccination Begins
The World Health Organization (WHO) has begun Ebola vaccination in southern Kasai province, Democratic Republic of Congo, following an outbreak that has claimed at least 16 lives. Initially, only 400 doses of the Ervebo vaccine were available due to limited access and funds. However, an additional 45,000 doses have been approved, supplementing existing stockpiles. This is Congo's 16th Ebola outbreak since 1976, adding to the challenges posed by ongoing conflicts in the eastern region.
