Pseudorabies virus

In order to support PRV-based neuron tracking research, Creative Biolabs has developed a reliable production platform after years of study, and it is now able to offer pseudorabies virus (PRV) services.

The 150 kb double-stranded DNA genome of the pseudorabies virus (PRV) codes for the proteins found on the capsid, outer skin, and envelope. Reverse-transcribed anti-synaptic PRV, which is derived from the vaccination strain Bartha, is useful for examining how peripheral neurons and brain centers are connected. Once nerve cells are infected, the virus can multiply there and cause the target gene to be expressed. After being carried to the synapse, the progeny virus retrogrades the upstream neuron's counter-synaptic label in order to continue replicating and spreading throughout the synapse.
