PHILADELPHIA The Phillies are leading Major League Baseball with the best record, and Bryce Harper hasnt even hit his typical hot streak yet. That might be changing soon. In a 10-1 win over the Blue Jays at Citizens Bank Park, Harper belted a grand slam in the fourth inning, hitting an 0-2 slurve from Torontos Jos Berros into the first row of right field seats to give the Phillies an 8-0 advantage.

I thought I made solid contact, but I wasnt sure at first, Harper commented.

Before Sundays game, Harper was hitting. 234 with six home runs, 18 RBIs, and an. 820 OPS. But in the three games since, hes launched three homers and driven in 10 RBIs. Hes the first Phillies player since himself in 2019 to hit three or more homers and collect 10 or more RBIs in a three-game stretch.

Berros has been a standout for the Blue Jays, posting a solid record up to that point, having allowed only seven runs in his first seven starts. But he struggled against the Phillies, surrendering eight runs in just 3. 2 innings.

Turnbull, who had a 1. 67 ERA in six starts this season, is transitioning to a relief role for the time being. In the first inning, Nick Castellanos doubled to bring home Harper, giving the Phillies an early 1-0 lead. Kody Clemens also contributed with a two-run homer in the second and a triple in the fourth that scored another run.

Clemens, who just joined the team after Trea Turner went on the injured list, has homered in each of the two games hes started this season.

Hes a stud, man, Harper said of Clemens. Good teams have depth, whether its in starting pitching, infield, hitting, or anywhere. Dave Dombrowski has done a great job of building that depth, even in the Minor Leagues.

Clemens has used the same bat model as Harper for a couple of years, and on Tuesday, he even used one of Harpers actual bats. Unfortunately, he broke it during a groundout in the eighth inning.
